They are dead; but they live in each Patriot’s breast, And their names are engraven on honor’s bright crest.~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Musing on life lately. Keeping in mind that this is a business blog, I am acutely aware that many of us workaholics (yes, I said it!) are possibly still working through the weekend, but I dearly hope you are able to stop for a moment and have fun with loved ones on Monday.
Many of us, perhaps through digitization of life or through the onslaught of responsibilities that adulthood brings with it tend to put some of the slower priorities aside, and it is a dire mistake. I will say that I have technically been on vacation for two days, yet both days I’ve been pulled into some fire at work. Saying that, I’ve made sure to stop as soon as possible to focus on my garden, which has become a sanctuary for stressful days and even not so stressful ones.
I remember writing a post about the habits of successful people. I’m not a millionaire by any stretch, but I have a stable and happy job with a group of wonderful ladies that are as close as family. Heck, we talk more often than I talk to some of mine! I love my team very much, and I love my job, but I, too, have moments where I need to get away for a bit, and remembering those who have passed fighting for our freedom and good causes, to me, is the most honorable of times to take a step back and reflect.
We need to bring back truly celebrating holidays for what they are, and bring back our national unity under good priorities and principles. For my fellow Americans, this weekend I wish good health, good rest, and good family.
We will pick up the QuickBooks on Tuesday (I have a neat barcode scanning tutorial coming), but for today I hope you get to shut down a smidge early and enjoy your weekend. So many honorable men and women passed so that you would be able to do so.
God Bless and have a wonderful weekend.
