HOW TO TURN ON ADVANCED INVENTORY IN QUICKBOOKS ENTERPRISE

Posted by Katie on Jun 11th 2017

Simple title, but I catch myself having to send a template to my customers on a lot of occasions on just how to turn on Advanced Inventory, and I needed a post for today, so here ya go. **Quick note - you must be current on your subscription and have QuickBooks Platinum in order to use this feature.**

Need Platinum? You can buy it from us here:

Local version (install on your network)

Cloud version (let us host it for you in the cloud)

Knowledge Drop: It isn't automatically on when you buy the program. You have to turn on the module in your Preferences, and then it is live!

Step 1: Once logged into your file, go to Edit->Preferences.

Step 2: Go to Items & Inventory-> Advanced Inventory Settings.

Step 3: Set up the settings needed. Set default values, if needed, such as the one below for Multiple Inventory Sites (these can be trucks, warehouses, whatever you like, but you have to assign at least one value when you set it up). You can also see the tabs for FIFO, Barcodes, Serial or Lot numbers. Pick your poison and go for it.

If you run into any problems, let us know. We are here to help.
